So like the title says you have a 1500-2000 dollar budget. What 1911 and why I'm not picky when it comes to caliber? I was kind of dead set on a 79 colt commander but now I'm not so sure what I want to do. Please don't hold back and if you find something post it. Looking to purchase within the next few weeks hopefully. Thanks in advance guys.
So this morning as I was about to start bidding on a Gunsite Colt, I had a message pop up from one our addicts with a nice little offering my way and something I couldn’t turn down. So hopefully I don’t get many more of these because I have a hard time saying no until the turnip is empty. I will be purchasing this Les Baer Custom Carry Comanche 45 in SS. I’ve never owned an LB and I still hope to some day grab up a TRS or maybe a NH TRS.
Nice looking little pistol Sir! Well done!
I can't buy something like that, because as soon as I saw your pics I started thinking about how I'd change this, and change that, etc., etc.. I'm just better off starting with a blank frame and slide I guess...
I’m late to this party and see you’ve already made a purchase, but I was going to suggest calling SteveO and chat with him about what you’re looking for. He seems to almost always have an available base gun in his possession, and he could walk you through the optioning/cost process.
I’ve got a gun with him now myself.
On the other hand, like has been said, there are some smoking deals on semi customs right now, and some sellers smoking crack trying to get full retail for theirs.

$hit all the testosterone I’m on they probably couldn’t keep up lol. I need a well weathered woman for all that. It would just be weird now as I have twin girls so that’s out of the question haha.
Well, I bought another Yost Gunsite (a CCO, also '99 build) a few weeks back and was originally only looking for one, so if I decide to get rid of the commander I'll drop you a line.

Depends on what it really is for. To have fun at the range Staccato P.
I also have got into Baers, WC, and NHC full-size in that price.
If you come across the later two in the range always jump on it and figure it out later. The Baers can be had on the low end of that used and are a steel for the prices.
no 1911 has ever felt as tank like as the Baer. So solid.
The XC is their most expensive gun. It also has a one piece comp barrel and is optic ready. It so $4399 MSRP.
The magwell is steel not plastic. The grip is a glass filled polymer to keep weight down. Some of my 3.9” barreled guns only weigh 25.5oz unloaded and that a 17+1 capacity gun. The trigger now is of course stainless and the trigger shoe is plastic. This is to get a lighter trigger with a faster reset. There are a bunch of aftermarket metal triggers that can be fitted if that’s your choosing.
I understand where you are coming from though. STI’s are shooters guns and are designed to shoot, not be put in a display box.
I agree.
I have guns in nearly every genre. I have guns that are designated shooters. Some tricked out Glock 34s. None cost near 4K.
To me 1911s are in a different category.
Just can’t see the place of the Staccatos.
Doesn’t mean I wont buy.
