Guys I've watched a guy with a series 70 Colt blow his right testicle off. Thankfully the guy manned up and said it was his fault. He was warned against using the holster he did.
While looking into something else I found this one. Apparently the city of Chicago actually tracks groin shots in their statistics :roflmaro::roflmaro::roflmaro:

There was a guy in the SWPL who was really shaky. He hadn't crossed the line in getting D/Qed or even thrown out of the league, but when he came up on the line to shoot, all of us backed away, including those waiting to shoot.
In 1982 there was a match where speed coming out of the holster was a serious issue. So he went out and bought a "SNICK" holster. It was an ABS plastic holster that was a break front, but the main retention was in the trigger area like a lot of holsters, but a bit different. I used one for years starting in 76, but I dry fired with that puppy for months before I started to use it. I listened to what I was told about building a skill set to using it. The SNICK was a really fast holster.
We all told this guy DO NOT BUY IT, then is was DO NOT USE IT. He wouldn't listen. Now also remember in those days we all had out grip safeties pinned, so there was only one safety aside from the shooter.
So he's standing on the line and he's fidgeting like crazy.. hands on the pistol shifting it, etc etc etc. Somewhere along the way, he dropped the manual safety off. Continues to fiddle with his series 70 and with the fiddling managed to move the trigger enough to touch off a round. Short form the Sheriffs got up there before the ambulance and he manned up to the fact it was his fault. He lost his right testicle and we didn't see much of him afterwards. In 1982 SNICK holsters were banned. This was in part due to the political battle over people using cross draws and breaking the 180.
Yep, I understand. I know a fellar, actually a relative that doesn't accept constructive advice very well, rather learn things the hard way. He has a life time of consequences suffered by poor decisions.

I had no idea that many people shoot them selves in the groin in one city. YTD is 43!! Now that’s crazy and a lot of dumb gun owners. I wonder what the national statistics are or if this is even truly accurate.
Always someone providing safety lessons in real life.
