What is the Most Accurate Production HandGun Made?
I've been looking around for info on the CZ Shadow series and came across a video that claimed the CZ 75 was the "most accurate production handgun made"
My SIG P226 Legion has repeatedly put 5 shots into less than an 1 inch at 25 yards. My best so far is 0.86". With a Ransom Rest, who knows how much smaller it could get.
I saw Ellie May Clampett knock a tic off a bear at fifty yards with a sling shot.
Now that's shooting.
Ok I'm stretching it just a little, really that was Hollywood.
However she could shoot skeet with a sling shot. Still more Hollywood !
For real....
She was no mechanic but she could get most motors running.
Yes it is. I just sold mine and can attest to the accuracy. I once had a target with a fly drawn on it. My friend, who convinced me of buying the 41 had one with a scope on it. From a rest he could hit that fly at 25 yards. Over and over
But in the right hands, my 6" Colt Python could do just as good.
There isn’t a single gun that fits the description of most accurate handgun ever made. Yes, there are handguns that are more accurate than others, but you won’t find a handgun on the market that’s been designed to accommodate everyone’s different sizes and shooting techniques. In fact, your size is a big factor and is one of the main reasons along with carry comfort that many large caliber guns have a compact alternative.
That said I'll add this.....
There’s a reason that the .45 ACP is one of the most popular handguns of all time. It’s powerful, accurate, and practically a hand cannon. What makes the HK45 nice is that it’s designed to be the most accurate handgun out of the box. This makes it the perfect gun for people who don’t have the time, money, or experience to purchase aftermarket pieces to modify their guns.
The HK45 is so accurate and reliable that it was almost made the official sidearm of the United States Armed Forces, but was beaten out by the Sig P320 at the last minute. It’s still a heavy-duty handgun that’s comfortable and easy to shoot, making it a favorite among various police departments in the United States and Australia.
Target made with the Hammerli Free Pistol above: 30 shots at 50 meters. 25 minutes to fire. Sometimes 72 year old eyes do it right, other times it looks like a birdshot pattern.

Have 5 Hammerli Free Pistol. The one shown is my favorite. It is I of 3 made with a sidewinder trigger (10 lever) that moves right to left. Set at 1/20 ounce so when your trigger finger is touching the wooden tab I have installed you only need to think fire. Can hold my own through 30-35 rounds but age and muscle fatigue comes into play after that. Free Pistol has now been dropped from the Olympics but they are giving you BREAKDANCING! What a trade off. ?
