Picked this up yesterday as a new nightstand gun. Slapped a TRL-1HL on her this morning. Heavy but I don't plan on carrying her so I don't care. Trigger consistently at 5 pounds 4 ounces. Things I like: It's CA legal Half rail The cut on the side, not really a ball cut but whatever. Not usually...

Put my first 50 through her then locked her in jail for the next 10 days. Gonna be a long wait.
  3. Competition 1911's
Had a BLAST today shooting our first outdoor match of 2018. It was great minus the rain and it was a little cooler than I thought it was going to be but all in all, a great match. Came in first in Single Stack so not a horrible day of shooting.

My first Dan Wesson, a Valkyrie in 9mm, was delivered yesterday. I have moved from lust to love. :) Did an odd thing and read the manual which has led to a question. DW recommends Kroil as other solvents can mess with the Duty Finnish. They also say to not use Rem oil, CLP, or Hoppe's elite on...

    1. Wow, silky smooth. 2. FFL asked me if I wanted my money back. 3. Doesn't care for Wilson magazines, doesn't like McCormicks at all. 4. If I could still see well enough, this could have been a bullseye comp gun out of the box. 5 Ran great with Check-Mate, ACT, GI surplus, and of course the...
  6. Beginner's Corner
Morning all, A good friend of mine asked me to teach his 13 year old boy to shoot with all of the associated safety rules, maintenance and primary marksmanship skills. So I know this is a 1911 forum but I am open to any recommendation. What I am looking for: Easy slide action and locking...

Popped my Wilson cherry finally. Exactly as I would have ordered it minus the naked slide. To have it NIB within 4 days of having the funds...worth letting it say WC on the slide. Night sights, 2 extra mags, small backstrap, medium trigger, cherry grips. I'm in love. Can't shoot her today...

First post thread contribution to the forum. Here goes... Earlier today I was thinking back to my first 1911 and wondering why on earth I sold it. It was a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 that I got for $479 in 2003. Pretty good price. It was the first pistol I ever bought. Come to think of it...

Okay so here is the deal, I am just getting ready to start up a mill I purchased a few months ago. I have several blocks of steel, plates etc... to practice on but, nothing works like the real thing. So, I am looking for a beater an older Taurus 1911, a star model, and old GI Remington something...

Last week I was at my LGS and found this police trade in P226R in .357 Sig. Its got a German made frame and is agency marked on top of the slide "City of Burton Police" with three magazines included. I didn't really need it as I've already got a P226R 9mm but I'm curious about the caliber and...

I was picking up my Wilson Super Sniper the other day and my LGS had the Saint pistol in. Really not my thing, but figured what the heck. I put on a set of YHM iron sights that I had laying around. So today I took it out with my Xtac Elite 9mm. I really didn't expect much from it. After a...
