I bought this gun recently from @Muffinhumper (his listing has much nicer and brighter photos) and it's the prettiest one I own. I took it to the range once and shot around 50 rounds through it without issue. From KGB: Fit and blended barstock grip safety Yost Gold Line front sight and...

WITHDRAWN, sent to eBay I am guessing this slide is late 70s from the small letter roll mark. Please, correct me if im wrong. Standard rear sight with Millet front sight, not dual crimp. Series 70 .45 barrel, locks up tight with next to no side to side play on the link end. Nice tight fit in...

1978 model if my Colt Fu has worked. I picked this up some time ago just in case, but if I do ever decide to get one done up I am really a 45 dude to the end. It looks like it was lightly used a little muzzle wear but no marks that I can see that aren't superficial. Would make a great keeper...

I didn't need to buy this gun. I probably shouldn't have bought this gun. But, you know how they call to you and now that I have it the friggin' thing has grown on me like an ugly puppy. And, every time I look at it, I find myself thinking "Dammit Karl!" because I couldn't resist this '78...
  7. Colt Series 70

It is an unique Series 70 as it didn't eject properly upon buying. I called Colt which sent me a shipping label. They fixed the ejection problem and also installed a National Match barrel (with paperwork as done at the factory).

I have a stock Colt Series 70 made in 1973. Works great but occasionally hangs up on SWCs, which isn't unexpected. The gun is plain jane and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to have a good gunsmith work it over some. Nothing major, I don't want a pretty gun, just one that is a little...

So, one of the benefits of being in LE for a long time is the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act - LEOSA. If you're not familiar with it, the gist of LEOSA is that it allows active sworn LEOs and and qualified retired/separated LEOs that were on the job for at least 10 years to carry concealed...

I saw this Colt in the LGS and was told it is a factory item. Haven’t been able to find any info on it. Looks like a great base gun. Has flattened and arrow serrated slide, undercut and checkered front strap, nice bluing and it’s series 70. Anyone know anything about it? (Sorry if the pics...

Well....not quite but close. I posted the other day a question about a Colt Stainless 1911 because I was contemplating using it for a custom build to have Dave at EA turn it into a 70s series stainless Special Combat Carry model to go with my blued one from Colt. Well, in the process of...

This is a very clean 1979 Colt MKIV/Series 70 45ACP. I am the 2nd owner however it has only been fired by the original owner who bought it new in 1979. I am not great at taking pictures and she is a beauty in person. The original owner said less than 500 rounds down the pipe and he is a...

Got the new to me Colt S70 that I bought from ChuckC and I am smitten. This gun looks right, feels right, and shoots right. Even though it had some very nice double diamonds on it I swapped them out for a set of American holly grips DukeSoprano had made for me a while back and with the...
