What are the great years for production of S&W Performance Center, specifically 1911 in 45 acp? I have seen reference that it is not the current models with lightening slots in the slide. Certain production year and prior?

Got this S&W 10-5 a few years ago from my grandfather. He was given it by the sheriff at the time before I was born. It came with a shoulder holster piece and some large black grips, while felt good I just didn’t like the look. I ordered some grips from Altamont, as I’ve been extremely pleased...

Long story warning: a few year ago this J frame 342 was stolen out of my wife’s vehicle. I have some friends in the local sheriffs office, turns out not 24 hours later they were caught with a bunch of stolen weapons (They even had audacity to film a “rap video” with all of them including this...

Hello, I was cleaning my SW1911TA today that I installed a GI guide rod from Wilson Combat last year and I noticed some unusual localized wear marks on the edges of the section that makes contact with the frame. I wanted to see if this type of wear is characteristic of GI rods or not.

S&W 642 purchased earlier this year, like new. I put red nail polish on the front sight, put a dab of blue loctite on the screws, and shot 50 rounds through it before placing it back in the safe. $450 shipped. Paypal f&f or venmo preferred and I'm open to offers! If you're local to me in...

I picked up this Smith and Wesson revolver several years ago and only pay it some mind on occasion. It is a beautiful gun, as you can see in the photos could use a cleaning, but I haven’t shot it much. Reason being, not long after I bought it, I began to hear something loose inside the frame...

S&W 52-2 Mid-Range 38 Special wadcutter. Decent shape with 3 magazines. No box. Asking 1499. Do you think that's a decent price? Thanks.

Going to refinish a S&W Scandium frame. The front strap under the trigger guard actually has more material under it that any other 1911 I have. Looks to be beefed up a bit in that area. Do you see any reason not to be able to put a nice usable undercut on there.? Thanks for any advice given.

Always loved my S&W e-Series, but never liked the look of the black hardware. Was thinking about ordering WC bulletproof replacement parts in stainless, but then I'd have to figure out how to fit the new parts and re-stake the plunger tube, etc, etc. So, rather than that, I went cheap and...

Sterling Hayden's S&W RM. Great history about the actor. https://americanhandgunner.com/handguns/behind-enemy-lines-sterling-haydens-registered-magnum/

So I did some digging and can't seem to find a picture thread for S&W 1911s so figured now would be as good of time as any to start one. I'll start off with my SW1911TA with some mild changes.

Well, I like to specialize (I guess I feel like I spend less) and pre-pandemic I didn't even own a revolver and then out of "lock-down" boredom started to surf GB nightly and settled on starting a little collection of 38 special snubbies. Now, I'm up to five with bids on a sixth :) I see prices...

While the factory grips were pretty good, especially for conceal carry and tucking in your waist band I saw these target grips on eBay and thought "what the heck" and I love them. The gun feels way more secure in my hand. The last set, the rosewood grips, came from Etsy via Thailand and of...

Yup, S&W Model 42 with a concealed hammer and yup, a grip safety. Pretty damn cool, I couldn't resist.
  15. Revolvers
I'm a bit of a tinkerer and I bought a few S&W revolvers for relatively cheap money (compared to 1911's at least) to learn the platform and work thru the re-bluing process. I've re-blued a Model 36 that I carry occasionally and a Model 28-2 that came out pretty nice. These are by no means...

Nothing ground-breaking but since I was off last week, I decided to convert one of my SWs to a GI guide rod with recoil spring plug and here's the result. Assuming reliability is not impacted in any way, I will be giving my other the same treatment. I used a Wilson GI stainless bulletproof guide...

Hey guys, so I have this old revolver that has been in my family for over 60 years. The gun has never been fired by us nor do we have any intention of firing it. My grandfather had found it on his farm in Pennsylvania back in the 1950s and it's been with us ever since. The only identifying marks...

*Sold!* Hey folks, I’m selling my S&W Model 60-14 for $500 shipped to your FFL. This is an all stainless steel 5 shot J-frame revolver chambered in .357 magnum. It has a 2.125” barrel and weighs 21.4 ounces. This is actually my second Model 60 from S&W; the first had the rear sight milled...

***Sold pending funds***For sale is a S&W 28-2 Highway Patrolman 6” in .357 Mag. This was the first revolver I purchased and frankly it was a screw up. Should have asked for more pictures, but didn’t. Thought was made in 1979 (birth year), but was actually 1980. Carried by a State Trooper in...

For sale is a S&W 66-1 stainless 4” .357 Mag with nice aftermarket grips and a new Galco leather holster. I bought this as an entry into revolvers and because it was made in the same year I was, 1979. I’ve carried it twice in the pasture and fire less than 50 rounds through it in two different...
