I have really been thinking I want a Wiley Clapp government model. What is everyone’s feelings on them? What would you guys change about them? It would be my first government model. I have had several commander sized 1911s. I think one would look great in the smoked nitrid3 finish.
For sale is a Wiley Clapp Government in 45ACP. As you can readily see in the photos, the frame was refinished in FDE and the sights were changed out to Trijicon HDs. It came from the first owner with some burl grips that were beautiful and complemented the FDE color but were sized for a Les...

What do y’all think about trying to paint these grips?
Thinking of getting some white rustoleum spray paint and taping of the finger grooves and start spraying. Is it possible to paint wood grips and still look good or is this a dumb idea?
I am a sucker for a Blued 1911. I got this about two months ago and only put 50 rounds thru it so far (shoots great). I have the stainless commander and well lets just say I suffer from a 1911 addiction (been having issues with ARs as well of late).
I am sure I will put hundreds of round thru...
