It was suggested in another thread and I want to see more pics of your old service and deer rifles so I'll start it. One of, if not my favorite cartridge is the 25-06 so we'll be inclusive. Post up your pics of your aught sixes.

The first rifle I bought with my 4-H money, an old Rem 725. Took the lame scope off her. She's on the trashy side, but I love her. Brush gun anyhow.

My current lame coast deer gun, A-Bolt Medallion 25-06. I freaking love this rifle. 20170502_221033.jpg

    Great rifles.

I’ve always enjoyed the A-Bolt. Have yet to shoot one that wasn’t tight shooting.

When I get some time this weekend I’ll post up pics of my ‘O6 bolt guns.

This is a friend's collection, there's over 30 M1s. I was asked to go through a lot of them (used to refurb M1s in the late 70s by the hundreeds). Some were already NM, the type 1s needed to be redone and I went through an did type 2 (modern bedding) on several. This is an M1C, easy for me to work on since I had two of the Griffin and Howe M14 mounts, both with the 1" top strap.

A very classic Model 54 that a friend brought to me rusted, it got written up for Brownells about using Kroil and basically saving the finish (except the buttplate). Liked it so much, I talked my friend out of it and it's in my safe now. Sweetest bolt action I've ever known on a bolt action rifle. I can pull it out for better pictures, but this is my brush gun. He got a primo 03 from me in return.

5 in front are all NM type 1 and 2 bedding. The one in back is a USMC 7.62X51 NM rifle I love to shoot because I do have a broken shoulder and when the 06 gets to me, it's the 7.62. The M1As are my builds.

I had a gentleman in Montana finish this project as my father never got it done.
It's a military FN action with new bolt handle, Dakota 3 position safety, Douglas barrel in 25-06, barreled by Clayton Jones, a local gunsmith. engraved and gold inlay bottom metal given to me by Don Cantwell of Cantwell wood products of Chico CA. Stock also from Don. I did most of the inletting of barreled action to gunstock.

I don’t hunt anymore, but this one could get the job done.

Beautiful! I love this one, I'm in Chico, Mr. Cantwell passed on over 16 years ago and I never met him but I've seen some of his work and it's darn impressive.

Don was a good friend and my father and I visited him a couple times there. Mr Jones passed years before Don. Too many of my favorite gun people have moved on that way. Harold Garrison the custom stockmaker for Herrett's left a good while back as well.
When I get a chance I'll get a photo of the 25-06 Ackley I had built by Ric.
