Did you know that you can use a spent shell casing in a pinch if you lose your recoil spring plug! John Mosses was a shade tree genius bar none! .45 ACP Only!

Zoid, did he move to the Hi Point forum? Or he may be trying to braze a bayonet onto his recoil spring plug.

My Dad showed me that back in the 60s when I was a kid. He learned it when he was in the Army Air Corp during WWII. The nice thing is there are usually 45ACP rounds on the ground at most the ranges I go to. I also carry extra plugs in my range bag.

And a little off thread but one reason I don't like FLGRs is there is no standard so if you want to have an extra holy plug in your range bag be sure it is the right size.

I found this out in the real world when a friend shot the one off his S&W 1911 variant into the weeds and I had a spare for my Colt XSE but the hole was too small and would not fit on his S&W. It only took us about half an hour to find his. Fortunately we were at a friends ranch and not a public range when this happened.
