1911 for 48 years

 

That is one hell of a track record. I’m torn between sourcing a Springfield Pro Operator and ordering a new X series P directly from staccato with 2 barrels

 

I’d buy a stacatto xc and know there’s not much better out there

 

Eh, comped guns never really peaked my interest to be honest. To each his own though, that’s what this country is supposed to be all about lol

I had a Staccato C2. Absolutely a great gun just not for me. I replaced it with a Les Baer Custom Carry!

 

Not sure I could do either / or, minimum would be 1 of each.

 

If I had to choose one or the other, it would be 2011 all day. Thankfully, I don't have to choose.

 

I suppose part of the allure of a 2011 is the "something different" factor. I like weird odd stuff I guess. Mostly I'm tired if looking at black and polymer. I want shiny on this one.

Ted Yost and Jason Burton don't build 2011s....Jeremy Reid did offer me one
..but even his talent couldn't make me want one.

I’ve got dozens of high end 1911’s and 2011’s. I love both.

 

New Springfield TRP AOS black full size. 45acp. Holloson green dot + TRL1 white light. My current setup and would be my one and only if it came to that.

 

I was having this same discussion with myself a few months ago. I was in the market for a 9mm 1911 and was looking at the DW specialist optics ready.

Then i thought to myself if I'm spending that kind of money, why limit myself to 9 round mags, so i bought a staccato C for a few bucks more...then a prodigy 5", prodigy 4.25", prodigy 5" comp, staccato hd4.5. It didn't make sense to limit myself in mag capacity.

And the elephant in the room is that word "desire". I must be an outlier as I've never used the words 'desire' and 2011 in the same sentence as they're just really ugly, IMHO. Any urges I have for a DS are satisfied by my BHP and its classic looks. But once I put a SS in my hand, that was it - and still is.
But that said ... choices are a beautiful thing.
