54, I love how clean the roll marks are on the early 50's Supers with the roll mark pushed back closer to the serrations. This build was going to be a 71 9mm Large Letter, then I discovered these Supers... This one does have a 9mm and 38 Super barrels.Whoa, I love this Super! What year is she?
Thank you, I spent a long time dreaming about this gun before I was able to have it made. It is blued. Thanks friend. She’s a looker...very clean and spans the gap between retro and modern very well. What the finish?
Thank you, it is a 1095 blade. I've long wanted a folder with a hamon and Neil is among my favorite makers so the combo was a dream come true. It is a completely unnecessary complication but the Japanese blade enthusiast in me thinks it is the coolest thing. That Blackwood is just awesome man. What is the steel on the blade?

I did. This is the second set I've bought directly from him, the first set I timed right and had in about a month, this set I timed wrong and had to wait 10 months for. I have one other set I bought off an auction website. Craig is great to deal with though and put up with me seemingly asking him to describe every wood blank in his inventory "or something close to that", and I dont think anyone checkers wood better than he does.Did you order from Spegel directly? I’d like a set for my Garthwaite
The Wilson is Wilson's deluxe blue and Ted Yost did the Colt, and I believe the Hijos de Villa is blue agave...Who did the blueing on the Colt and Wilson?
LOL, it dulled the pain of buying the other two.How do you like the Wilson deluxe blue? I am heard mixed reviews on it but have wanted one of my Wilson’s done in it.
Blue Agave must of been good not a drop left
You are correct, it is a 1954 38 Super. I was going to use a 1971 Large letter for the base before discovering these early Supers with what has become my favorite Colt roll mark, I love how on the early Super's the rollmark is all tucked behind the slide stop notch, giving the slide a very clean appearance. I had to hunt for awhile to find a clean example to use as a base, and hours before I was going to settle on a 1949 Colt, this one appeared and I snagged it. Ted took care of the rest.looks like the 50's era roll marks.. any info on the base gun?
Oh yeah, definitely need to see more pics of that. Looks great![]()
