Well it's here my Caspian Classic frame, it came today.

It is beautiful but, it won't slide right on my slide LMAO :happy: just kidding.

Someone said I may have to finish parts of this new frame. The trigger track is smooth
& the whole frame is just, well it's better than I thought it would be. So now it's off to
fit the slide to frame I will post pics from time to time for now look at that Factory pic.

I have fit almost every part of the 1911 but not the frame to slide fit. It's up to me
to fit this with a nice smooth flow. No mill just by hand, using a file, sand paper & stones.

The plan is to build a 1911 that looks like but will never crack like the old one did. I do
plan on using the org. 1911 Military parts back into the pistol. I replaced all the worn out
parts & springs when I first bought it. Real 1911 surplus parts were once a great bargain,
but no longer a $5 hammer is up to $68 today & a real 1911 frame well good luck.

The best fit so far for a real 1918 Colt 1911 is the Caspian classic 1911 frame. It looks like
a real 1911 with no 1911A1 features. We will see how it works, I can't wait to get into it.

That Caspian frame is just perfect & to think they built one for me ahead of Schedule.
Walt @Caspian is great to work with, & helped me choose the right frame for my 1918.

I do not know about their Slides, but this frame looks a lot more ready than I expected.

I do not see any tool marks, it's like someone has worked on it & made it look so finished.

Of course it too tight, so I will finish fitting the slide to frame I do hope
it's too big all over so I can make it a great shooter,

Go slow and measure a LOT.

I think it took me about a week working on and off using stones exclusively.

It's the ser.# that gets the money I wish the slide had cracked but alas not.

I stripped the frame & slide so far, & the new frame looks so close to a real 1911.
Now I will go hide out & stone the new frame. :happy:

Hello fellow Addicts, I have some pics to share on my never ending story lOL. :roflmaro:

Ok I got the Caspian frame & began stoning it to fit the 1918 slide. My final
lapping with JB Bore paste because it has Diamonds in it LOL. I got the slide
& frame polished & sliding back & forth without any bind.

Next was time to fit the Ejector.
I saw right away that the Caspian Ejector was way too wide so I
used the Org. 1918 Ejector instead & fit it instead. All in all a lot of hand work
that was finished with a nice polish. I used stone & at times I would use 1000
grit Wet & Dry black sandpaper to polish the finished bearing areas.

Next I will start to shape & finish the Slide & frame in order to do a nice Parkerizng
job. I will try to post my progress as time permits as well as my 1951 B-Day 1911
I have not forgotten her. :happy:

One last thought.

The Caspian frame is a fine well made part to work with.
I was happy to see how well the frame was finished.

I have a great example in my 1918 frame to see
just how well the Craftsmen & Women of the day
finished a War pistol. Best finish was the very
early 1911s untill the workers were told
to hurry & not do such a good finish job.

Now it's time to follow the example set before me, by
early makers of our great 1911s.

I have a brand new in wrap 1917 45 acp Chrome lined barrel.
I was toying with the idea but no the Barrel I have on
is dam near new.

Hey this is after all, The Tackle Box Gun :joyful:
it's gonna get some new grips. I do spoil the old
Colts LOL, the 1917 Colt 1911 has a pair of real Double
Diamond walnut grips made in 1918 price
back in the 90s they cost $95.00 & they look old. :mask:

TTT Tools? I got a Kimber instead of my Colt & it was a 9mm to boot LOL.
