After some thoughts and conversations I decided that someone would cherish this old Colt more than myself. 1951 Colt Commercial Government 45 ACP with a touch of soul and a Smith that remains anonymous. It's worn and seen alot but it remains with clean roll marks, no pitting, and dodged a millet dual crimp or two.
The gun has a nicely refitted frame and slide (peened/polished) that's still really well fit. Factory tube has been refitted with a #4 link and tight bushing. Factory trigger is a very nice glass rod 3lbs on multiple pulls with long trigger.
Front strap is checkered with a matching mainspring housing. The extractor is well tuned and even when caked in carbon needed no adjustment.
At some point the Rear Bomar was replaced and a Scope was used in its place.
I just replaced the grip bushings along with all the springs after a whole night of cleaning. It's not perfect but you might not find another one for the price with this much soul.
Included is the gun with one Colt magazine sporting some nice double diamond grips. I'm also including grip mount and Tasco scope, which still works. It stays together to carry on this timeless pony telling an unknown tale.
