Hi Folks - I know there are some collectors and dealers on here, so I thought I would give this a shot. I am looking for a 2006 Colt as that is my son's birth year and I want to gift it to him when he becomes of age. He is already a great shot and has been fishing and hunting with me since he was 5. I am not partial to any model, but I do like the Special Combat Government models. I do prefer it to be as close to new as possible. I have a few really nice Colt's on hand to trade or I will pay cash. Please let me know if you have one you would entertain a discussion on. I have seen the one listed on Gunbroker now.

Thanks
Dan

Still looking for a 2006 Colt 1911.
2006 is relatively new and will be difficult to find in descriptions of listings. Focus on checking a metric Sh$& ton of Gunbroker listings against the Colt online serial database. You might just get lucky.

Indeed Sir, I have been doing that and attending all kinds of auctions. I actually thought i had one last week on Gunbroker. Put a max bid of $2300 on a Colt WWI reproduction in Blue Carbonia right before I got on a plane. The auction was ending while I was going to be still inflight. Someone came in the last minute and outbid me. Hard to believe it went for that price....It's been a painful journey.
Oh man thats tough I I am following this thread and will keep an eye out for an 06 serial. You could be looking at a reroduction WWI or 70 MKIV reproduction in 71 or 72 b serial range also a 1991 colt model, delta elite, gold cup etc….

Thank you sir. I appreciate you looking out. There is a 70 MKIV repro on Armslist right now, but I think it's a little too high for my liking. If I am going to drop that kind of coin, I would prefer the WWI repro. I was outbid a few weeks ago on a 2006 Commander. It went over 2k because it was 38 Super not because of the model. Anyhow, thanks again for the guidance.
