Want a 5-day 1911 assembly/build course with Tim Davis of Carolina Arms for $700 (plus the parts kit, of course)? How about a 4-day Precision Barrel Fitting for Auto-loading Pistols course with Irv Stone III of Bar-sto for $500?

Ok boys and girls, it's time to plan your 2019 gunsmithing vacation. In addition to courses on all the basics of gunsmithing, finishing, repairing, machining, etc. there are at least three 5-day 1911 assembly/build courses, including the one above. Shotguns, rifles, semi-auto pistols and revolvers; blueing, color case hardening, parkerizing, spray-on finishes; mill, lathe, bench metal; probably some other stuff I haven't seen. I've only looked at the two schools closest to me.

Almost all the courses cost $200-$300 for the 3-5 days.

So get your registration in, make your plans, and let me know if you'll be attending any classes. Maybe I'll see you there.

    The four schools are:
Montgomery Community College in Troy, NC
Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, CO
Lassen Community College in Susanville, CA
Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK
    FWoo45 and wcanterbury like this.
