Finally got my hands on a 4” Model 28. It is unfired from an estate sale, but has been handled some.
This will be a shooter for me, I’d like to remove the factory stocks and replace them with something else so I don’t ding them up.
I’ve got a set of Altamonts on the way, just as a stopgap until I get something nicer.
Who are the go-to guys for nice wood panels?

I’d consider some of the “Heritage” style offerings from Eagle Grips.

I have a set of N frame grips exactly like that I would sell if you want a back up pair.
As has been posted the Eagle Heritage series are excellent. Very close feel to the old coke bottle grips.

Well being an old curmudgeon I’d just add a BK grip adapter-much better than the current Tyler T-Grip without the stupid long wait lol-to go with the service stocks.

There are some cool old S&W and Pachmayr grip adapters floating around too.

If you like the target style grips I agree with tas6691 and grab the Eagles.
