Alright so I narrowed my search for a .308 to the sps tactical or the savage precision carbine. The problem I have now is where to buy it from. Down here I can't even see the savage and online everything going for msrp. Anyone have experience with these rifles and where to get them for a decent price? Thank you all in advance.

Both are good rifles. I've owned both and currently own a SPS. Your use and future plans will probably dictate which you should buy. The Rem has larger aftermarket support.

Look at GB; from time to time I see SPSs for decent prices. You might check walmart also, they have a special order program. Sometimes the prices are pretty good, sometimes not.

It's mostly range use with some minor stand hunting. Didn't know about Wally world.

I got mine from GB. They have decent price, also look for the new one with a threaded barrel.
