Anyone shooting .400 Corbon? I have a desire for a 10mm, but the Corbon is pretty close, and should work in my Custom II. I am thinking of fitting a 6" Roto Barrel from Sarco, they are only $56. I have been reading "The Colt 45 Auto" manual, and I am pretty sure I am capable of fitting it.

Just wondering if anyone had experience with the round, or even these cheap Sarco/Roto barrels which I believe are made by Armscor.

Back in the day I built up a Para Ordnance high cap gunsmith frame kit into a 400 Cor-Bon, came out great. Ammo was scarce so I bought some Starline brass and Loaded up some Rounds.

Loading data was incomplete at the time so I slowly worked up some decent loads. Bottle neck pistol cartridges are a pain to load however they feed really well in the Clark drop in barrel. Bottom line is Recoil and blast was impressive and accuracy was fantastic.

Now days Les Baer will fit and sell you a conversion when you order a custom gun and a better selection of Ammo is available.
I have since for gone the 400 CB in favor of the 10mm due to Ammo availability and ease of loading the straight walled cases. I still have the 400 CB but it's regulated to a conversation piece that lives in my safe.

I had a buddy who has now gone on to the big range in the sky. He had a 1911 conversion and a Glock conversion. He believed it to be the winner of the caliber wars. He only shot Corbon ammo in them. He also purchased a new Corvette yearly.

Well, here are several barrels to chose from if you decide to. Made by Armscor I believe, so not the best, but should work. Ranging from $50 yo $100 with a muzzle break and fit bushing.

Thanks for the info. Reluctant to experiment with my Ed Brown, but I have a Norinco that would be a perfect Guinea pig.

I just found a STI 40 Super barrel for cheap, but it is a Nowlin and I don't want to mod my Kimber just yet. LMK if you'd like the link.
