What is your advice on using this round in a 1911? Would you recommend using a conversion or do you have concerns about frame damage/life? Thanks.

Don't really have any advice as I've never used it before. I did see a very poorly installed kit by a "custom shop" that sells and installs them. They ended up buying the gun back from the guy...

It is, from what I understand, a very stout load and probably will cause some frame demise down the road if tons of rounds are fired through it but hey, that's the life of a big bore right?

I personally spent some time a couple of years ago researching the .45Super but decided against it also.

    Sorry couldn't help more.

Thanks. I was looking at the Clark a while back but that much wallop combined with the words "drop in" made me more than a little skeptical. I really like the idea of fast follow up shots on wild hogs or an angry sasquatch. My second shot (if needed) from a DA magnum wheel gun would be much slower. Too slow. I'm too old to climb trees.
