I started offering this Match grade package, basically to mirror my own personal match guns. Everything you need, functionwise, from a 1911. But cosmetics take a huge back seat. Scratches and milling marks get left. Lines don't get straightened. But the gun shoots and feels great.

The grip safety was particularly challenging on this one. There are more photos of what all that involved on my instagram page.

The EGGO pattern on the front and backstrap have definitely become my favorite texture from a functional standpoint. Its very grippy, and it can take a lot of abuse.

Had to fabricate a rather large oversized dovetail rear sight to be able to fill Springfields' dovetail cut.

Jeremy that is an outstanding pistol. Agreed, everything you need and nothing you don't. I'm not a rail guy but it certainly fits on this build. And speaking of fit, that grip safety is first class. Stunning Sir!

Damn...is that all I need? I have a belt sander in my shop and a 9mm operator that needs a high cut and texture. Might have to try my hand at it. 😁

Well, that and a grinder. The belt sander does all of the precision fitting and dehorn work. You need the grinder for the intricate stuff like the EGGO pattern.

One of my favorite pages to check out. Every day I’m at the bench and need inspiration I turn to you, Burton and Biondo’s IG pages.

This series of updates on the two 2011s you did last year have been of particular interest to me as I work through my first 2011 build.

Thank you for always updating your page. It may not seem like a lot but to some of us it is good visual source of ideas and inspiration.
