Moving this to the 1911 Photography section.

The Off-topic > Photography section is for non-firearm stuff.

Nice. Quick question. Many firearms instructors are banning the use of those type of holsters in thier classes right now. Personally, in my handgun class a few weeks ago one of the guys had one and had an epic faliure with it after some grit got in it and he could not press the release down to unholster the weapon. Have you ever had this problem?

No epic fails but I am making a new holster as I do not!!! Like this holster. I have had delays on draw, but no fails!

I have one of those holsters for my PT1911 (surprise!)...no problems but I also don't roll around in the dirt with it either. I would surmise if that retention system is problematic, are Serpa's also banned? Just asking...I personally detest those retention systems that place my finger near the trigger on a draw but that's just me being weird.

Some well known instructors are indeed banning them form class. Not because of retition failure but because they say people have a problem keeping thier finger out of the trigger guard when drawing and are having ADs.
