I am thinking of picking up a 9mm 1911 to go with my Les Baer.

I am not looking to spend a lot right now...max of about 1400ish.

I am leaning toward a SA Loaded 9mm, seems like it would be a good base gun for a future project. It would also be up to the task I want it for now.

A Trojan would be another option.

Anything else I should look at? I need a full size 5" or I would get a DW Guardian. This is mostly so I can get a nice holster and use it on both, to keep as much cost down as possible.

Another option is to go all in for a 9mm 1911 and add the Baer to the money and go with a Wilson or NH. I am not a fan of that option but it is in the back of my head.

Yeah being cheap on this one.

I actually really like the the STI Tactical 4.15, but I want to be able to use whatever I get in IDPA.

The Top SA is a Custom is it not Quack? I love it!

Thought of going that route as well... a RIA and sending it off for a little bit of work. I would imagine it would end up costing me too much though.

Never heard a bad thing about the RIAs.

RIA's are good to go, but i would never send one out to be worked on, but i would use one as a "project gun" if i was wanting to learn how to work on them!

I would either suggest a STI Trojan or Spartan. My Spartan shoots lights out!!
