Arrived in south Africa yesterday. Take a small plane out to lodge today.. 5 days of twice daily safaris on a huge private preserve bordering Kruger. Not hunting just going to shoot pictures. Wife surprised me with this trip for Christmas. Vuyani lodge, should be awesome. Only 20 guests. 15 hour flight was a slice of heaven. All these critters that want to eat me and I don't have a gun ! Maybe I can work something out with the guides !

    Outstanding,.....enjoy!

If you are in or near Kenya, get to The Carnivore!
One of the most wonderful dining experiences I've ever had! Been there three times......

Been planning an African Safari for the past couple of years. Down to two different outfitters working out the details. But it's going to be a hunting safari. Can't wait! :)

That's awesome. I'm sure you'll have time of your life. The wife and I went to Kenya and Tanzania for our honeymoon. It was spectacular. Zoos will never be the same. Gotta take the kids though. And yes two thumbs up for The Carnivore.

Congrats but I'm a hunter and it would kill me not to shoot a few while I was in the Dark Continent. Should be a blast though. Enjoy and post pics PLEASE.

Two outings so far. Animals have been unbelievable ! Lions on a fresh kill 20 feet from us. So far, lions, giraffe, leopard, cheetahs, babboons, hippos, mongoose, jackels, kudo, impala, crocs, etc etc. Only internet is in the lodge. Took tons of pictures. Will post some soon. Another safari at 4 today.
They take us on two safaris a day. Open land cruisers feet from animals. Guides/trackers carry no guns !! Weather is perfect. We are here til Wednesday. Highly recommend the Vuyani Lodge !

I've been to South Africa twice--a lot of beautiful geography and amazing animals there.

Cape Town has some of the prettiest views I've ever seen--try to make it there if you can.

I look forward to the pictures.

african safari has been at the top of my list for a very long time. however, i would also be happy with doing exactly what you are doing. Must be a fantastic experience! If you don't mind me asking what does something like this cost for a couple? We have also wanted to do an Alaskan cruise with some shore time. I know the alaskan cruise i looked at would cost us around 4-5K

Extremely difficult to download pics here. Fresh kill of a "Kudo" antelope. We were ten feet away from them!

This one is for you Red. This is not a domestic feline. It is actually a wild African cat that has been domesticated and is very cool. He has adopted us. He knows I also like cats. There is one other on the property but you can't get near it.
