I was referring to both. How do you like the fit and finish of them? I'm asking as I've never held or even seen one except here and their website. I would think they are as good or better than a NH or GI?
You are asking the right person, that's for certain.

@Dwe has experience, up close and personal, with more top shelf 1911's than I even knew existed. I'm looking forward to reading his ongoing experiences with these ACW beauties.

AHHHHH HELL YEAH!!!!!! :):):):)
My first ACW, a Prime, came today and I really just can't stop admiring it! Even now as I am typing this. Fit and finish is exactly what it should be. The checkering although a finer LPI, which I normally can't notice, has a modest grip texture and is perfectly executed. I have always thought the blueing job done on Rob's pistols was one of the best out there, but all the polishing that was done for the Turnbull charcoal blueing puts this several rungs above. I opted for the parts to be done in this finish also instead of the nitre blue and their more matte look are a nice compliment to the polished look of the rest of the gun. Won't know the range details for a bit but that's OK cause I'll never be able to shoot it as good as the supplied target. Told the OL not to bother me with anything less than a possible amputation or a stroke as I needs me some bonding time.
And I know :pics: but no pics yet as it hasn't stopped raining here since yesterday morning.

Congrats !!!!!!!!!!

Really looking forward to seeing your new gem.

I hope I can take a good pic of it, hard to do most times especially with subpar photography skills.

Take dozens and post 'em all up. :)

Can't wait to see it.

I just called Patty to pay some of my
balance the other day, & add some American Holly grips to my order, 😎

I inquired if they are behind due to the parts issue, was told yes a little bit.

Patty was kind enough to check my delivery date; it was only pushed out 1 week from the original date.

It’s getting closer - Really looking forward to this 1911.

Cheers,
James

Awesome looking gun.

Every time I see pics of an Alchemy 1911 can't help but be jealous over the nice high grip you guys can take. They simply look like they'd feel PERFECT in hand.

After seeing pics like yours I decided to go ahead and get the ball cuts. ACW appears to really knock those outa the park....perfect alignment and cleanly done. (y)

My wait officially began on Feb 3rd. It's gonna be a looong wait. :)

I think I post mine too much, but is it really ever too much? Took this one this morning. Trying to document as much of the wear as possible as it goes progresses. Really liking it and glad I went with the blued finish. View attachment 953078

I really, really, really.......didn't DID need to see that pic. :p

I have been fighting off pulling the trigger on ordering a railed .45......been kicking around different possible directions....spoke with the folks at WC last week. Ruled out what I was kicking around....Wanted to pursue a Shadowhawk with IOS....but honestly the gun will retain the 🔴 24/7 so no real need.

I know the Quantico will be a choice performer, too. A year to wait vs two years is another factor.

Wanting a gun that'll gobble up a high round count over the years...and keep shooting tight groups.

For what it is worth, I ordered my Quantico Feb 4th and was told estimated ship date Aug 29th. Probably a little longer but maybe less then a year

I've had a couple conversations already with my my pusher dealer friend concerning putting in an order for a Qantico.

Plans bumped back slightly when the wants for a Prime Elite boiled over and wouldn't simmer down. Couldn't get a lid on it until I went with that one first. Doing a two-toned version. Planning on carrying it often and keeping it well fed. Placed order...paid off....just in the waiting game, now.

My top trio of railed .45's was coming down to various WC possibles, Quantico single stack or ShadowHawk.

Not much need for waiting on the Hawk with IOS....even though they absolutely nail it. The gun will don a red dot and keep it on. My only concern with ACW is simply my ignorance with their dot mount options. Which do they support....how low is their plate....ongoing plans to support....etc. etc. One thing about NHC & IOS....I feel that there will be strong future support for it...new plates for emerging new optics, etc.

I simply want to future-proof as much as I can.

I really like everything I'm hearing from Quantico owners.....and ACW owners, in general. They are obviously solid guns....which is what I'm wanting. A gun that will hold up over the years and get me through carry, range fun, training, home defense, etc.

I'm gonna do something soon.

Soon.

My Quantico .45 has joined the party. Absolute Perfection. The blued finish differences are distinct and smashingly appropriate to purpose. Curiously, a 500 range SN, the lowest of my ACW trifecta.
Now to get back in queue 😂 for either a Quantico 9mm, Quantico HC, or Prime Elite Commander 9mm/.38super in eye-searing hard chrome?🤔 View attachment 956587 View attachment 956588 View attachment 956589 View attachment 956587 View attachment 956589 View attachment 956588

Awesome guns......that's a super collection right there.

I'm yearning for a Quanitco .45.

I picked my new Prime Elite in 9mm today, hard chrome lower and blued upper.

Heck yeah !!!!!

Sexy gat.

That looks exactly like the Prime Elite .45 I am waiting on. I'm now almost two months into the order, lol. Gonna be a long, long time.

I’m really digging my Alchemy; My hand just melts into the undercut grip, love it.

Sure looks like it would do just that.

Nice high grip.

Congrats on those first 400 rds. (y)

This can’t be overstated. Of all ACW’s aesthetically desirable design elements, the undercut grip is masterfully functional.

dnugget,
NICE GUNZ!!!

question on your Chip McCormick Power Mags. are you using the traditional Power Mags or the Power Mags Plus?

The reason I ask, I have a high use Springer MC Operator where I used exclusively traditional Power Mags. Approximately 15K through the tube and likely double dry fire with a lot of mag insertions. Unbeknownst to me, the pointed tip follower dinged up my frame just below the feed ramp. I don't believe it was worn mag feed lips, but just the inherent way those followers act when empty (meaning they move fwd and the pointed follower contacts the frame).

I don't ever recall this causing any issues, and most recently I felt that area raised, and I dressed it flat.

I also bought some Power Mag Plus mags that have a rounded follower.

While I am not worried about my MCOP frame as this piece has been driven hard, however just providing a heads up on your ACWs if you plan to use them hard.

Huge thanks for the heads up. (y) (y) (y) (y)

Arrived at the LGS today. These one makes #3 for my little Alchemy family. View attachment 971771

Sexy beast !!!!

I believe that's the first chrome Quantico Doublestack that I've seen. Mighty sharp.

Ordered my HC Prime Elite on 6/21 and picked it up today. Exactly 10 months. The hard chrome is gorgeous. Pics don’t do it justice. So glad I went that route with it. View attachment 977304

Sweet pair.

I couldn't decide on hard chrome or blue on my first ACW......so I'm doing a mixta. Boff' in one. :giggle:

It's probably just me because I like original stuff. Why would one want to modify an ACW? I would rather keep it original and its parts all fit together as originally from the maker.

Why ?

Because they don't make them with all the enhancements that some customers want....nor does most any semi-custom maker.

My goal is not to "keep it original and its parts all fit together as originally from the maker" but to make it the best 1911 for me that I can make it.

Got my blued Stan Chen magwell today and it looks great. It’s not a “perfect” fit, but it’s pretty close.

There is something really stupid that’s bothering me, though. It’s not the Stan Chen magwell, but rather the ACW one. I was putting it away and saw the “570” (my SN) scribed on it and it made me feel bad. Why? Maybe these things really do have souls!

Awesome looking Quantico.

Why did you want to change magwells ?
