During testing, MK 23 pistols met the most stringent operational and accuracy requirements ever demanded of a combat handgun. Endurance testing demonstrated a service life of over 30,000 rounds of +P ammunition. To meet the reliability requirement, the pistol had to demonstrate a minimum of 2,000 mean rounds between stoppages (MRBS) with both M1911 ball and +P ammunition. All pistols exceeded the 2000 MRBS with an average of 6000 MRBS. In more than 450 accuracy test firings from a precision firing fixture at 25 meters, MK 23 pistols far exceeded the government requirement, averaging 1.44 inches, with 65 groups of less than one inch. There were four groups of .5 inches, with 5 rounds going through the same hole!

HK's are great guns for sure, I own a few I'll never part with, but this is an ACW thread, nobody cares about your MK 23 here. Also, if you haven't noticed, we as a group pretty much love ACW's, and everything about them, including the people who build them for us. Read the room, Marines do know how to read, right?

Mk 23 will air on Forgotten Weapons eventually. Frogmen got everything they asked for, in a package as big as a Walker horse pistol. Dropped it after two deployments. 1911 is still in service sporadically. My only ACW thus far, and it is perfect!

Gave it a good scrubbing yesterday and then took it straight to the range. This is ten rounds at ten yards yesterday. I still struggle with the gold bead front sight, but it's starting to get better for me. I shot my duty guns all the time, so if it's not a three dot Tritium set up, I struggle to adjust.

Here’s my prime with comfort carry checkered arched MSH (done by Rob) and 1” accuracy upgrade. Grips are english cake walnut from Jon at Highfigure Grips, and the knife is a Dan Winkler Operator II with maple grips.

My estimated ship date is coming up, obviously I’m getting a bit antsy, but I happen to scroll across an Instagram post…of Rob holding an interesting prime elite. It’s finished in bead blast blue, black barrel, with ball cuts, ambi safety and the big ones…Novak rear sight and the older magwell…both of which I was told they only had one of when I ordered. All of this to say, I think it’s safe to assume the man himself posted my prime elite today and I’m absolutely over the moon. Pretty nice to get surprised with a preview of what you ordered prior to it shipping
