It is smooth walnut and quite nice, though a bit slick. I love the look of wood on blued steel, but I may have to find an ACW checkered set.

Check out WoodCaliber or High-figure grips. I have both, English Walnut from Wood Caliber & Black Walnut from HFG’s. Both sets are beautiful.
