So yesterday my oldest daughter, her husband, and I took #989 out for her maiden run. Neither my SIL or I had any malfunctions but my daughter had a few ftrb. She has a notoriously soft grip and has experienced this with other pistols. The gun is very accurate and makes it very easy to shoot well. This Prime Carry Classic is my first 9mm 1911 in 20 years. We Shot about 225 rounds through it, 100 being Winchester 124 grain NATO, and the remainder being 115 grain white box. Both the kids shot a bit better than usual, my daughter shot quite a bit better, and she knew it. After firing her 3rd mag she declared the ACW her “most favorite gun I’ve ever shot” we kept shooting and she later said she wasn’t buying another gun until she can afford one like it. I am very happy with it. It is every bit as nice as I hoped it would be. I’ve looked it over quite closely and can’t find a imperfection anywhere. The slide it tight with no perceptible movement. It was necessary for me to use the bushing wrench for disassembly. Beautiful inside and out. I tried several times to capture how nice it looks on camera, but failed miserably. The bluing is deep and dark and the polish on the flats is incredible, and highly reflective. The best part of it having traditional bluing is I don’t have to worry about what lube or solvent I use. The texture on the stock grips is fairly aggressive, without being pain inducing. Very functional. The comfort carry checkering on the front strap also works great. My 1500 round stockpile of 9mm is not going to last long into Spring😎 I’m sure at some point I’ll accidentally take some better pictures but for now, I present to you, the 989! @Samurai Jack take note👍🏼
