What's the reason an aluminum frame can't be re anodized?

My understanding is that there is some type of issue with, re-anodizing an aluminum frame that has already been anodized.

Yes because the dimensions will change. Anodizing is controlled corrosion/oxidation you cannot add that metal back.

I think you would have to remove the old first.

I have an aluminum receiver out being anodized right now.. I also had the receiver of the Defender in my avatar anodized after stripping the original silver colored finish off of it. The slide is Ion Bond over stainless.
