You might be insane! Is this the same model you are looking for?

Then again you would need to know someone in San Antonio Texas as he says FTF only.

I am to far from SA to help you.

    that's a GI model...

Im hoping to keep it as close to $500 as possible... With a little luck, I think it could happen. (or i'll get the itch one day and buy one that's available on GB)

Let me know when that becomes available... I wouldn't expect yours to be that cheap.

The hypothetical pistol I'm referring to in my original post would be one that may possibly have been neglected, severely worn and possible incomplete. Think project car but in pistol form...

If the right pistol presents itself, I'd willingly pay more.

Same offer as before. It's just sitting in the safe.

It's an NM prefix as well

Just buy an ATI. They have a much better fit and are under $500.00 NIB at our local gun store. Personally, I think the Filipino guns have an edge over many of the US makers at this point in the game. all the ATI's I've seen have been very well made.

Got mine from gander mountain for 350 last Christmas..smelled like cig smoke but who cares smelled like hoppes after I got it home....Ask them if they have "anything in the back" ie purchases not yet cleared with the sheriffs office...you will have to wait an extra 15 or so days but you can nab a good price if you find a cool employee ---Also it always helps if you bring a hot girl with you...pretty sure thats how I got the deal, dude never talked to me for the 2 years I had been going there before..

LOL because she is also a 1911 nut and peruses the site on my account, and I have inevitability labeled all my guns as "her" guns without a prenup I will have to refrain from from making this a mathematical exercise :peep::bolt: --Disclaimer: love you honey.

I just bought one today, stainless mil-spec, just cerakoted and micro-finished on internals, in original box, complete. got it for $400 at Belton gun show. But I sure wouldn't let it go any where near that. So, insane? no, their out there.... just have to be at right place/right time
