    Hello all,
I’m would like to know what would be good ammo to put through the DW Vbob? It’s a brand new 1911, and it will be for target shooting and personal protection. Let me know what is the preferred ammo for both. Thanks.

Standby for multiple, confusing answers. Run about 250 rounds of any decent commercial ammo through it to get started.

I have had good luck with many economical range ammo but lately have been buying Federal white box RTP in 45 which runs great in my DW Specialist as does Winchester white box. Both 230 grain FMJ. For carry ammo I use Federal HST but people get too hung up on this. As long as it is well made, and proven reliable in your weapon, then where you place said round will be most important. But I know you already know that! I have also shot a bunch of Armscor in 45 and 38 Super and it has also been good practice ammo

I understand there will be a million different responses. Doesn’t hurt to have some options.

Also, sorry fellas, it is a .45acp.

FWIW, I'm using Federal HST for personal protection, and either American Eagle or Fiocci for practice. Remmington UMC and Winchester White Box will work well enough for plinking, but it's really dirty to shoot.

Sellier and Bellot works well as does Geco in .45 at the range

Geco's specs for the 38 Super are very warm. I am considering buying a case to try for practice purposes.

What boatdoc said. I have the same gun and never had an issue with Federal.

Sellier & bellet really is good stuff at any price, way cleaner than white box.
