Locally they're $900+.
blue, basic, "O" model
Get 'em while their hot !
Honestly,if these pieces are something you want, get them before 2012.
Don't fret over 20 or 40 bucks.
You know how people are....
Dealers will be asking more for the damn things as they will be "collectors items". :biggrin1:
Anything under $ 1,150.00 is a deal. Colt is only going to make 100 total
I must be thinking about something else and much less exclusive.
There's a stripped-down, "GI" model in blue with no frills and nothing on the right side slide but "100 Years of Service".
That's the one I'm looking for.
Me thinks they are having fun with you. I was under the impression that all Colt 1911's would get the rollmark this year. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time....
Shows ya what I know.
That's pretty much the case.
Every one of Colt's 1911 line is supposed to have that rollmark on it.
My point being is that internet dealers, (short of our resident semi custom dealers :thumb: )will probably grab as many as they can to sell on GUNBROKER and the other 'net sites at a premium AFTER 2011.
Creates it's own "collectable" market, don't ya know!
My 2 2011 Colts with VZ grips. The rail is my duty carry
TXLeo, those are two fine pieces there.
Thanks....I think the top one is the one you are referring to. It has only "100 years of Service" on one side...didn't show up in the pic very well.
I recently bought a new rail gun model 01980RG and its not role marked 100 years !
But the factory box says " 100 Years of Service " On it !
I`m kind of glad its not marked !
The black one doesn't have the rollmark. The cerakote filled in the rollmark so they left it off.
They're called 1991's.
Thanks Nick , I was`nt aware of that !
The all black is really nice , shoots as good as it looks !!
I'm glad I bought a Rail Gun and Combat Elite earlier this year right before they started the roll marks. It would only be something of a collector's item if they did a very small limited run on a certain model.
Yup, that info came from Brent at the Colt Custom Shop.
Combat Elite's didn't get the rollmark anyway.
Pretty cool to have a friend at the custom shop !!
Please tell Brent I said Thank You !
Wow that's weird seing that Cerakote goes on about .001 thick
