I know I've asked this before, but for different reasons.

In addition to my SLOW sell off of my eclectic firearm hoard, I also have quite an extensive numismatics collection as well. Again, nobody in my immediate family has any interest in either, so in the spirit of my first purge, I thought I would start a second. Most of THAT hoard is as pedestrian as my gun hoard, but there are a few intriguing items in the mix.

I thought of posting up items of intrigue here first to see if there might be any interest before turning to other venues.

Those of you with an interest, what is your area of specialty? Proof sets? Morgan Dollars? Peace Dollars? Early Fractional? Early Commemorate Halves? Large Cents? Gold?

Also, if you know of a numismatics discussion forum as robust and family as Addicts, please let me know of that as well. I have never joined any forums other than 2nd Amendment related sites. I appreciate any help in cutting through the bulldrop.gif that I am sure is out there.

    Thanks in advance.

25 silver dollars sold pretty quick a couple months ago, if I remember right, within two days. I’d just post what you got Gary, don’t cost nothing but your time.

Seems like the sort of thing that would be of interest to a lot of people around here. Even those of us who had to google "numismatics".

I guess I'll have to start digging stuff out. I promise it will take me a while to get started.

I love the trade dollars. Seated Liberty and all.

    I've got one or two to part with . . . .

    Gotta start digging them out.

The Trade dollars are beautiful coins, especially if you can find some without the chop marks.

I am fond of the 20 cent pieces, half dimes, and standing liberty quarters

Nothing serious here. Just $12 - $15 bucks in quarters handy most of the time in a Barranti LifeChanger.

One might need a bunch of quarters all at once. Hopefully not.

Ancient Greek coins 500BC-100BC and mainly from the time of Alexander the great and his father Philip II. Especially if they are from the Hunt brothers collection or the JP Morgan collection
