Atlas Athena, Ares, Nyx with NO mag well?

Considering grabbing an Atlas for EDC. Although I much prefer the ergo's and texture on the Atlas vs the NH commanders I have, I do prefer the NH grips built in minimalist mag well for appendix carry.

Can the mag wells that come with the Atlas's be removed and ran without? Could I still use 126mm G3 mags? I only see that some of the Ares 4.25 come without a mag well, but looks like it forces you to use specific mags that are flush fit.

Any input appreciated. Thanks!

I'd prefer to run an Athena, Ares or Nyx grip like this.

NOT like these. Wonder if I got the 4.6 Ares and removed the mag well, is it the same grip as the 4.25 that requires the flush fit mags or will they accept any mags. I emailed Atlas but got no reply.

The team at Atlas has been extremely accommodating any time I’ve been in contact.

They make a retaining clip for their grip that holds in the panels.

Otherwise, track down a V1 Nyx, those have Cheely's on them that you can run without the magwell.

As @2tone said the grip shown is a Cheely. Atlas's Aplha grip, which is what they are providing now, has detachable side panels so there needs to a magwell or trim ring to hold them in place.

I do see now that's a Cheely vs Alpha. So..... wondering if the Ares 4.6 grip is the same as the 4.25 Ares, once the mag well is removed. I'll call Atlas, see if I can get an answer.

Pretty cool that Atlas answered the phone and my question quickly. Should've called to begin with instead of emailing. Anyway..

The carry mag well is the smallest one you can use to retain the grips. Only option for no mag well is the Ares 4.25, or another model, IF it was built with that grip. Or a Cheely, as 2Tone stated. I've seen them with both grips. It's not like the carry mag well is huge but it may add to printing, carrying appendix.
