Have you ever noticed some of your 1911s, are like an old comfortable pair of work boots. Certainly not the most expensive, or prettiest in your safe. Just one of your favorite's. Every scratch, nick, or mark has a story to tell. Mines a 1984 Colt Government model chambered in 38 Super. I have a 9mm barrel hard fit for her, that I’ll install when recovering my brass is difficult. But rarely shoot anything but 38 Super through the old girl. She''s one of those 1911s that always goes bang. Reliable as a true friend, and just feels right. I've shared many pictures of her over the years, but couldn't help taking some more. I certainly have nicer 1911s in my stable, but this one is my true keeper.

The only 1911 I own that I positively won’t trade off is an old ‘69 Colt Commercial.

The wear marks are caused by over hugging. Classic.
