Wondering if all Barsto .38 Super barrels headspace on the cartridge mouth , even ones made in the mid to late ‘70s ?

Curious as my barrel is dated 3-78. Good read Old Rooster, thanks.

I’m not a guru but from what I’ve read and been told by gurus, if it’s a ‘78 Barsto it’s probably good.

Good to hear, the barrel in question is in an old school Kings custom 1911 Government, I have only had time to fire it a few times so far. But it has quickly moved to the center piece of my modest collection of custom Colts.

Does it group or does it shoot patterns?

phill, I’m wondering who built this Super. It’s a ‘90 Government. Kings bushing.

Just had time to see if it goes bang, am currently struggling with this bifocal crap , upside down ones and such, trying to get something to work. If the sights are clear the target gets to blurry or the opposite. Trying to find a happy medium. I know the real answer is a red dot but I am resisting. When I get a chance I’ll post pics in the collector area, there’s one thing that bothers me about this gun and I want to get a consensus from other guys .

Quick pic before I have to start grilling. Found a small ledge on the barrel hood that catches the rim, guess it is what it is. And now I guess I can’t use all the Supercomp brass I bought for an old Wilson Accucomp.

I see what you’re concerned about, i.e. is it supposed to catch the rim to headspace. I’m not where I can get to one of mine at the moment to compare. Hopefully one of the members here will be able to respond before I can.
