What would you all consider the best 1911 shoulder holsters? I have been looking religiously, but have yet to find the perfect one. I like the DeSantis New York Undercover, but I don’t like how the magazine pouch connects with just snaps. I understand that they do it that way so you can choose between horizontal or vertical orientation, but the snaps make me nervous. I bought a Gould and Goodrich years ago for a GLOCK. It’s a great holster, but unfortunately they don’t make it for 1911s. What do you all suggest? I prefer black leather. Thanks for the help.

I love, LOVE my old Alessi. Brilliant design and flawless execution. Unfortunately, after about 30 years, the leather has begun to crack near the snap. I have a saddle maker here in town that says they can repair it, so that's good. 'Cause I don't think anyone makes 'em like this anymore. :cautious: :(

I've worn shoulder holsters for 35 years every single day of the week. I found over the years the thinner and lighter the harness the more comfortable . The heavy straps also print to some degree. Belt tie downs blow . I have an Andrews coming shortly . Hoping that design is comfortable . As I age I keep using lighter and lighter guns . When you are wearing something for 8/10 hours every single day . Weight becomes a priority .
Hoping Andrews was the right choice for my newest carry piece .

I have a galco jackass also. It works. Fits full and officer frames equally well. The straps are thin enough to not print but still hold the load. It's open muzzle though so you'll get some lint, but it fits any length. I can easily conceal under an open flannel shirt. It's a slower draw than a belt holster for me though, not my high alert rig.

So this thread had motivated me to use my shoulder holster more. It's actually pretty nice. Thanks to the hipsters that made wearing flannel shirts cool again. I almost blend in but I hate having a beard - too itchy.
Anyway I was so enabled that I looked online and the galco rig is discontinued for anything but a 1911. Ok fine but what about my other toys!
Has anyone used a craft (falco) holster shoulder rig? They've a lot of choices.
