One of the best looking 2011s is definitely the Fowler Vanta 9

 

When it comes to busy designs, Fowler's one of the best.

 

Ya that Vanta is beautiful. I think the Venom Custom guns are some of the best.

I've seen this one a few other times. For some reason I think of Voltron, and I absolutely dig it. 🤖

 

Venoms are great looking. I have a Hayes PIB on the way in black/rose gold, which looks very nice. Most of my collection is just black (Atlas, Staccato, etc), I’d have to say my Wilson carry twins in reverse two tone are pretty damn good looking.

I own neither but I've always liked the look of the STI Marauder and the Alchemy Quantico HiCap.

 

Having some good conversations about diminishing returns, reliability and the cost of 2011's got me thinking about aesthetics.

Sand Viper: Boy it's hard to pay $3k+ over an XC but I just love everything about the aesthetics here. It's actually kind of weird because I normally gravitate towards plain, black and simple.

Taste is something of opinion. That said I wanted to DLC black the barrel on my island XL but watched a buddy shoot it in a match to try it out and the look kinda grows on me….

I’m normally not into anything flashy other than a red trigger and base pads…. But damn I love the look of this gun.

 

That looks like the special edition that they sent all the dealers but you must have changed everything on it.

I love my EDC X9L, but it’s most definitely not a 2011.

 

I have an EDC X9 4" that was recently lost in a hurricane boating accident while chasing mermaids.

 

Very impressed with the Venom so far!

 

just picked up a GI X2 commander, nothing fancy but all business. Best looking style to me

 

I personally feel a 2011 looks better with serrations, cuts, and/or a rail. That’s just what suits the design, in my opinion.

Thats not to say that your GI doesn’t look good.

 

I really like the simple, classic, blued Alchemy 2011s. That said, I also like the more modern but not over the top aesthetics of my MPA Hybrid and Bul Air. If I ever have a 2011 custom built, I'd probably go with a classic, blued 1911 look.

 

Pretty torn these days, but she's brand new.

After spending the weekend at Gettysburg and Antietam, I finally got back to Charleston to pick up my gorgeous new Quantico Hi-Cap Carry. I was so excited that I managed to drop her on my concrete garage floor and ding the front sight. Such is life.

 

That sight has character now. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

 

Best looking 2011 to me is, hands down, an ACW full rail HiCap Quantico. I just picked up mine this past week and it is gorgeous (and it shoots great).

I put approximately zero effort into this very low quality picture. 😂

 

I love the look of Taran guns. We are a Taran dealer and I've been fortunate enough to handle a ton of Sand Viper, Pit Viper, Combat Masters, etc. Getting to demo them is even better. Taran, while not the most.. "practical" definitely puts a ton of time and effort into making the gun aesthetically pleasing and the finishes are great on every model that has come through the shop. The sand viper and pit viper now have a new grip module that is better than the OG when it was first released. I absolutely DESPISE the fact Taran uses the smaller grip safety from a shooters prospective.

Since we are a shop we don't see the custom craziness like Charyn, Chambers, Hayes, etc. I personally love the look of @AJP darksaber and that is by far the best looking pistol out there and is ranked number 1 on my list.

Second is going to be Infinity. They are king when it comes to custom finishes, colors, symmetry, classic and modern looks. Love seeing pics of the Infinity guns!

Third is the Taran guns, specifically the sand viper. The combat master John Wick sets we had were awesome too.

Fourth for me is the Fowler Vanta 9. Fowler is hard to get ahold of... We've been trying to setup being a dealer for them! (if anyone here works for Fowler and sees this, DM me lol!)

Fifth is gonna be the Alchemy Quantico high cap. I took a Sage Dynamics class and got to shoot Aaron Cowen's. That's an awesome gun. Looks slick too. Classic 1911 styling with big boi double stack goodness.
