Thinking about a OWB holster exotic leather (BBQ holster) for Ultra/Commander size 1911.
Ell, Ostrich, etc. undecided. Waiting for it is not a problem.
    Where do you buy yours?

Simply Rugged Leather, they have a bunch of different types of exotic leathers, Rob Leahy is been doing this a long time and he is great to deal with.

Exodus Gunleather and Warbird are a couple I've had good luck with.

You might want to talk to Jason Winnie. Good guy, family business. https://www.jasonwinnie.com/

Milt Sparks makes some really nice exotic trimmed holsters. Warbird Leather makes nice looking stuff. Been a LOT of nice gently used holsters on the forums lately, you might find a killer deal if you shop around.

Good luck! Make a thread when you get your BBQ holster!

Carl is a legend, and his holsters are well worth it from what I’ve handled and seen:)!!

I have a Stetchdex holster (it’s a iwb), from Todd... He can make anything though. Sadly, he’s gone MIA, but it’s sweet as well!

Second the opinion on Exodus, a sampling of mine below. I have other Exodus holsters that have been worn hard and put up wet and they hold up and still function perfectly. Carl is a great guy and will work with you to provide you with an excellent product. He makes a great belt as well. C19AC599-8589-4596-8DD1-FBD66894D699.jpeg

Paul at Warbird leather, here is one he made for me. His lead time is about a month.

The best holster makers in the world are names like Sparks, DelFatti, Ralston, Erik Little, Mark Garrity, Alex Nossar, and Mitch Rosen. For a relative newcomer, take a look at Palmetto Leatherworks. For the money, they can't be beaten. All of their holsters are top shelf, American shoulder cowhide leather and double stitched. When you spend this kind of money on a holster you want hand "hard" molding, heavy cowhide cut from the shoulder, double-stitched edges/wear points, and if using snaps, "pull the dot" USA made branded snaps. A lot of "exotic" holsters shown online are made more for show than for go, IMO.

Question: I can't find a website for Warbird. Is there a trick? I tried the .com listed on the business card in the pic.
I have seen several pics of his holsters I like. How do I order? Do I have to call him?
