I bought a blem CS from Staccato’s site a month ago and cannot tell what is wrong with it.
Neither can anyone else that has checked it out.
Only thing we could come up with is the serial numbers inside of the slide are cut off a bit at the bottom.
Shipped in a day and was cheaper, so I am happy with the purchase

Thank you for confirming that! The blemished pistols I'd consider are cheaper by almost exactly the price of the optic I want

 

@khend1 was the price difference that substantial?

 

Mine was $260 cheaper than a non-blem.
Figured I was going to carry it and shoot it, so I didn’t personally care about some sort of possible blem in the finish.

I wasn't clear. About a 10% discount on all models I've looked at.

 

Does Staccato mark the blems in some way? Dan Wesson used to put a mark after the serial number. This would be good information if you were buying a gun second hand.

 

If you are someone that shoots your pistols ALOT and doesn’t just park them in the safe, blems are the way to go. Like many have suggested, the blems are very minimal and the savings can be great.

 

Still can't find the blem on my XC, but I honestly haven't looked all that hard.

To me that just says that the blem is small, and nothing that I would attribute to ordinary use on a gun, so the flaw has to be tiny.

For me, the $450 or whatever off it was off new was absolutely worth it. Like others have said, I bought it to shoot it, so it's going to develop wear.

I bought a CS24 blem about a month ago. I think I found the blem, very small scratch on the frame under the right side safety. I am very pleased with my purchase. Believe it was about $350 off retail. I would definitely buy another blem model.

 

I bought a blem Colt 4” blue Python several weeks ago, my LGS had it $300.00 cheaper than the other ones he had. I asked why it was so much cheaper and he told me it was a blem but it wasn’t marked in any way on the gun or box. After looking for 20 minutes I couldn’t find any cosmetic reason it would be considered a blem.
About a week later I took it to the range for the first time and it shot 18” to the right at 25 yards. Only way to adjust that out would have been to weld a piece of angle on the side to mount the sight. Can only assume that was why it was considered a blem. Have a friend who never shoots that wanted to buy it so he is now the proud owner. I did tell him the issue and passed along the receipt and warranty card but don’t know if he contacted Colt or not. Made me not want to take another chance.

 

I’ve bought two and barely even found blemishes. Totally worth the savings

Just got my C full size in a few days ago and I can’t find anything noticeable
