A blem could be anything appearance related...not function or safety related. Some blems could have been corrected by replacement of a part...some could be more finish related.

 

"Blem" sales can also be justification for discounting regular inventory when the market is soft. A work around for MAP pricing.

 

Many who purchased blems have reported they cannot find the flaw. I bought a Weatherby Threat Response rifle probably twenty or more years ago that was a blem at a huge discount. To this day I cannot find the flaw.

 

I been wanting a 38 super I can take a blemish .this will be a range gun .maybe a good deal.

 

My understanding is Colt 'Blems' are supposed to be cosmetic only, not functional issues.
I looked at one here recently, and I couldn't find any blemish - just usual Colt rattles which are more like a Colt special feature.

After further discussion there was a mention of 'aged inventory / old stock', as Slapshot mentioned above..... I am sure there are occasional actual Blems, but it's very possible you won't find anything either.

Commander 38 super I picked up today at my FFL. it’s a blem I bought from buds. I cannot find the issue.

 

Let us know how it shoots with a good range report. I’ve got the Classic Super .38 on layaway and considering the Combat Commander in Super .38. What’s the slide to frame fit like?

Seems to be a lot of these blemished colts available.when I called about the national match .i was told that the vender had 30.

 

I've been looking at the Commander and Government classic 38 super. Colts like to hear how she shoots...
