I absolutely love this place in Newport, OR. Stop by if you are ever traveling the 101 Hwy. Newport Café: Love the fish and chips!

My wife and I when we travel will often times look as the cafe and diners in that particular place that has ended up being on the show Diners, Drive ins and dives. It is a good way to try and make sure you don't get a crappy meal when traveling. Honestly if you want to take out about a 50% chance of getting a horrible meal when traveling then stay away from the chain restaurants. I have found out over the years that these places are hit or miss just about everywhere you go. One of my favorite places I have ever eaten is Phillips Crab House in Ocean City Maryland. Love Maryland style Blue Crab one of my favorites. But if I got to stay in the state that I am in than it would have to be Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen In Springdale, Ohio...

They’ve been documenting good local places to eat far longer than the cheesy asshat from the food network.

Florida offers nothing in the way of good eateries. New England on the other hand I would be typing all day.

Check out a Capital Grill if you are close to one. Excellent steak.

I have to agree with this, the best meals I have ever had in Florida were made by some residents there. Anytime we have visited there an ate out anywhere the food has just always been meh... Not horrible, but nothing to brag about either. I think to a degree, it's because it is such a big tourist draw that everyone is more interested in the profit than the quality. Has to be some good out of the way seafood joints though there somewhere. Or cajun cuisine somewhere I'll bet..

    Bern's Steak House in Tampa
Better Than Sex (desserts only) in Key West

Those are the first two that come to mind.

If we are talking burgers, years ago Angelo's Burgers in Anaheim, CA The burgers, fries and milkshakes were great, reasonably priced and you got a lot for what you paid. The roller skating car hops were always hot looking.http://angeloshamburgers.com/menu.html

BBQ Used to be the Chris & Pitts in Anaheim, but that location closed. I don't know if the others are good. They do their own hickory smoking and the spare rib dinner was awesome. http://chrisandpittsbbqrestaurants.com/

I have yet to try Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble, Colorado but I have heard great things about it! The location in Marble, CO can't be beat! http://www.slowgroovinbbq.com/

    I am starting to drool...Bye!

Yeah but you can get just as good food as Bern's in RI for a whole lot less. Grossly overpriced IMO. One of the issues i have noticed with restaurants here is they have no consistency. Many start off strong but then the food and service deteriorate; or they are good one night and Meh the next. The Key West place I have not been to. Mostly chain food joints here who prey on snow turds. My wife can cook a better steak than Bern's. She's a great cook and quite frankly I'd rather eat her cooking than most of the crap they serve in restaurants these days.

Unfortunately the restaurants in Glenwood Springs, CO are dominated by high priced, FANCY Aspen type eateries. :( The BrewPub in Glenwood BREWS awesome beer and makes good food, but it is pricey and everyone expects a 20% tip whether they earned it or not!
Get together of friends at the Brewpub in Glenwood Springs, cO
