I have just completed the frame cutting on my ultra compact 1911 compact and wondered and wanted to know exactly how far back does the slide go back on the frame. I am in the process of lapping the slide and it just occurred to me to ask.

Another question. I started the initial fitting of parts and found that the sear won't go in through the sear hole. Either the hole isn't big enough or my sear is too big. I'll post pics of this later tonight.

Oh, forgot to mention that the 80% frame is a Para Ordnance p10/warthog frame. I know that there are some differences with the double stack frame like trigger, mag release and grips but didn't think that the sear could be different. I'm trying a standard sear.

comparison with GI frame, top looks good.

There is clearly more room with the GI frame for the sear to insert into the sear hole as oppose to the Para Ord P10 from from the bottom.

Well, upon further inspection found that I just needed to clean up the hole with a small round hand file.

Now, back to work.
