This is a Royal Australian Air Force Boeing C-17, it was taking part in the Brisbane Riverfire Festival.

Makes me proud knowing that those engines were manufactured by my employer.

There’s a bridge out this way that a few A6’s and F18’s have flown under.

We get to see these from time to time living north west of Lewis/McCord, WA.
They are so huge that they seem to just hang in the air even though I'm sure they are going well over 200 miles an hour when in the flight path at low altitude.

Couldn't find any footage of THIS year's flyover. I happened to be driving to my second job that afternoon, as they were flying a holding pattern over the South Hills, prior to THE moment before kickoff. So I see them through my sunroof come screaming in one last time at 12:59pm, and as I'm listening to the radio broadcast, I hear 'em roar overhead on the radio when they get to the stadium, about 10 seconds after they went over me. It was pretty cool.
