C2 tac grip news?

I know I may be asking people to predict the future but are there any rumors or info on a tac grip option for the c2 in the near future?

Thanks!

Staccato may wait to see what happens with the CS. To my mind, I can't see the benefit in keeping both guns.

I may be a bit out of the loop. What do you mean by “tac grip”.
Ahh. The stippled grip.

Yep. You can get it on the P, but not the C2.
I recently emailed them about the tac grip option for the C2 or just adding the CS grip to the C2 and the response was that neither was being offered at this time nor was there a plan to offer this in the future. Kind of sucks as I’d like to buy a C2, but want the tac grip. I would’ve considered a C2 with CS grip even though the mags are proprietary, but wasn’t my first choice.

@Elusive is your friend. You'll come out ahead in the end on all fronts; cheaper, better texture, and no need to swap out for new mags.

It’s just a grip stipple. Anyone can do it.

Looks like staccato offers a grip swap service. A good stippler should only charge you around $100. I’veused Extreme Shooters for many years, they used to do all of STI’s grips.

Extreme shooters charges $200 minimum, the Staccato swap is $400. What stippler are you using that only charges $100 in 2022?

$200 is the baseline for a good basic stipple job today, not including undercuts and other special textures and borders.
Yeah, I don’t understand Staccato’s reasoning for not offering tac texture on the C2. When I priced before, the tac texture upgrade on a P was $100 if you built the gun and added the tac texture. The grip swap after you buy it is $400, which doesn’t make any sense. But the $100 tac texture option for the C2 would be a no brainer. I know that there are several business’ out there that stipple, but most were in the $250-$400 range when I was pricing having the grip done for a C2. Elusive, LV Stipple, Rocket City, etc. were all in that price range. This was to keep the Staccato symbol on the grip and stipple it similar looking to the tac texture. FWIW, I didn’t price Extreme at the time as they slipped my mind. I haven’t ordered a C2 as I had been waiting and hoping that they would offer the texture on it, but after their email I’m still trying to decide what I want to do. I’m just not sold on the CS at this time, but have never had my hands on one.

Unfortunately they won’t swap a C2 grip even if you buy it through that service from what they told me, unless you go to a P sized grip on your C2.
Ideally I'd want to get the tac grip before the gun ships so I could get it for around $100. I could never pay $400 for their grip swap service after the fact. I'd also probably never pay over $200 for a stipple job. I guess I was just hoping with shot show coming up next week, there'd be some sort of rumors of the c2 finally getting tac grip. If not I'll just sport the standard grip until I figured something out. I've had quality stipple jobs for under $100 in the past, not sure why it's more expensive because it has a star on it.

Any aftermarket stipple job you go for will be well worth the extra $100 you shell out over the tac grip from Staccato. Elusive has about a week turnaround versus Darkside or Rocket City which will take months.

I'll just take the Grip Module off myself and either buy a Extreme Shooter's Grip Module, or send the original off to be Stippled. I've changed out three so far, and I'm going to replace the Triggers in my C2 and both C's.

Going through my old emails, it looks like I have not used extreme shooters since 2020 and Jason did that grip for me for free. I’m guessing pricing has gone up like everything else since 2020. I believe it used to be $125 including the return shipping.

Interesting. You can always swap it out yourself if you can find a 120mm grip. It’s a very quick and simple process. There’s rarely any fitting necessary. I’ve swapped out grips numerous times over the years.

Staccato told me not long ago the Tac Grip can be put on the C2 but.................. Then your C2 16 round magazines won't work. You have to buy the 17 round mags.

This is actually why I won't get a C2. Loved everything... Except the grip, and for a $2,200 gun, I wasn't going to pay another $200 to get the grip fixed.
