So, this may be a dumb question but can ionbond finish be removed (blasted off with AO, or..)? Picked up Colt Combat Unit which is stainless slide and frame with ionbond finish. Thought about removing the finish then bead blasting the stainless.

Any thoughts are always appreciated.

I've read that it has to be removed with another vapor/chemical process- not mechanically, but I don't know that for sure.

I had my gun ion bonded and they messed it up. They have a chemical stripping process that takes it off so you don't have to be concerned about blasting eroding your engraving.
