How in the low hell do you message a member on this site?

Thank you I've tried but there is no message prompt when I click the name or the profile iconClick on their name then start conversation.

Well those rules effectively render this website worthless considering I am just trying to contact a member to purchase a weapon that he has for sale by the 14 days it'll be gone. What genius thought of this format LOL such a waste of time

this is not an online market place it is a forum where enthusiasts gather to discuss things relevant to the 1911 platform.
Those rules are in place so people don't just join to buy something. This place is more then just a sales forum.

I'm too new here to know who came up with the rule, but it was one of the members that wants this to be a community of friends and not just a for sale board. It also helps prevent scammers on high dollar items. Just look at what's happening on Gunbroker....What genius thought of this format LOL such a waste of time

Well if you want to prevent scammers I would suggest creating a rating system instead of preventing people from contacting users to purchase something quite naturally if you're purchasing it's going to be hard to scam someone it's more easy to scam when you're selling not buying. If anyone knows have him message me please since I can't reach him. Thanks all

While I completely understand what you’re saying about it being difficult to scam someone when you’re trying to purchase an item from them it does not negate the fact that there are rules in place and they must be followed and skirting those rules will get you suspended or banned. There is always another firearm that you can’t live without right around the corner this forum is full of knowledge and fantastic members. My unsolicited recommendation would be to stick around, forget about the pistol that is for sale for now and enjoy the conversation. 👍
A better way to start off here would be to have an introductory post introducing yourself, what type of firearms you currently own or what you’re into.
