I’ll let you know about the mag. The pistol should deliver between tomorrow and Saturday.
I’m out at camp so communication is limited. No signal. But I’m pumped to see it. Can’t wait to strip, clean and lube. Then off to the range.
Sig ammo is as accurate as the SilverTips at 15 yards offhand. PMC seems to be the mildest recoil of all the ammo I have tried so far.
Welcome to the 38 Superb revolution within the addiction!
Congrats on the Colt and 38 Super ammo.
Nowadays the freaking ammo is almost as much as the gun!
Thanks brother cant believe I waited this long to get one they are really fun to shoot . Time to test the defense ammo in ballistic gel
With good bullets at 1325-1350 FPS it will get the job done. My carry load is 147 Gold Dots loaded to 1250 FPS. It’s a very competent cartridge when loaded properly.
The Silvertips penetrated 11 inches and the Sig went 15. Both expanded well
Very good stuff
Now, I need some input. Do I go with a retro Colt ring hammer or an old wide spur hammer or bobbed spur!
The trigger came in so nice I just left the stock hammer in it for now .
After 400 rounds the extractor was a bit loose , wasn't having any problems but chambered rounds would fall through the gun during extraction with the mag out so I snugged it up a bit and now they fly out . Also noticed it has a series 80 extractor not sure why they put that in a new series 70 gun
‘Cause they had the parts handy ;-)
I hear that, they probably have a 55 gallon drum full of them that they are trying to get rid of LOL
Well , I finally got it home. The only booger is the takedown mark and I knew that going in. It’s very smooth and surprisingly tight. The safety (believe it or not) is very positive. Crisp on and off. The trigger is quite decent but will get a tuneup when it goes in for an arched MSH & a semi-retro sight set. I’m going to have to see how I like the short trigger since it’s different than my others. Any suggestions for touching up the booger mark other than a Sharpie?
My buddy scratched his and I put some Vans on it and it made it better but not perfect.
The new slide stops I have found are a bit difficult till the gun gets broke in and taken down a few times
In the flesh....
Nice thats great glad you got it ready to hear your report on how you like it
Will do. Ima gonna send you a pic of the sight set I’m looking at. I already have arched MSH from Ed Brown, blued serrated.
Ha! Found my Birchwood Casey touch up marker. It did a respectable job.
I’ve now heard of at least 4 cases where the new slide stops are very tight. I can tell you that mine is. Now I know how that beauty mark occurred on mine. I stripped it last evening and getting that slide stop back in made it a project. BTW it came with a stainless mag.
