You will not be disappointed. I’ll warn you though, once you go down this path others will suffer by comparison

conical burr grinders do not burn the beans.

Correct,.....and a burr will help to ensure an even grind, the only way to grind

important step sometimes lost over time is running some cleaning medium through those burrs to keep the grind consistent

We or I should say I grind the beans by hand  yes by hand in a small well built grain grinder we put back for Y2K. I grind enough for 3 days it is slow but keeps us in great tasting coffee
    for our Bunn Coffee maker.

I have seen the electric grinders & if I ground for a week or more . Well maybe but as long as I can keep up Mrs. A says she won't replace me with an all electric grinder.

I've often seen hand grinders in antique stores, most in need of a major overhaul.

I buy “Grounds & Hounds”....beans delivered to my home. Great coffee and for every pound bought, they donate to ASPCA and other dog charities....

i also happen to like CostCo costa rican coffee and their own Kirkland brand...pretty good and inexpensive

That's pretty much the way coffee was made in the middle east. You drank half the cup and tossed the rest.

Heck...when we could make coffee! Otherwise it was a pinch of freeze dried (or regular grind) between lip & gum!....followed up of course with a pinch of Cope Wintergreen as an after-drink apertif!...LOL

That's how my Grandma made it, but at the table she wouldn't use a cup, always saucered it.

I actually like this blend out of New Orleans, made with chicory. Lot of folks won't like it because they find chicory to have too much of a peppery flavor. A very common coffee substitute used by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. IMG_1150.jpg
