Buy it now is about $799 too high, and that’s collectible bs price.

Okay, now it’s a good price for a LNIB 01918.

Wish I could travel back in time to 2001 and get one of the 01911A1s as a shooter.

Among other reasons to go back to that year, probably also involving firearms.

i have a shooter i picked up a few years ago, previous owner started a few improvements which i continued on with after i got it,the most noticeable thing ( and im thinking the most expensive ) was he had the slide machined for a heinie front sight, the odd thing about it is that its dovetailed in from the front, parallel to the barrel, about the only parts i can tell that are still original are the frame, slide, and barrel. springs, pins and about all other small parts have been changed out and most are wilson combat
its matte stainless so a good sanding of all the sharp edges would come out nice i think without having to refinish it.
did you see the pics of the clark "meltdown" custom the guy posted in another thread ? nice one,i like it,its sweet.
oh yeah, forgot to mention, its a M1991A1 series 80 converted to series 70,all the 80 parts have been removed

    Customs aren’t for me, I’m a pre-1943 purist. I dream of finding a shooter condition 1941 or 42 Colt Army A1, that 2001 repro was OF a 42.

Makes one wonder why and how they got them and why they haven't come to auction yet.

I know one of them was seized in a raid and it’s tied up in court, the others I think were part of a batch of weapons on loan from the Government, were some select-fire M14s’ in there as of a year ago. Dunno now, I think the rifles were supposed to go back.
