good looking rig .
Nice. Check on the production date. That serial number puts it in early 70's
I believe it's a 74'
I'll Call Colt Monday. I didn't realize it could be that old. The flats are so polished I had to keep repositioning it so my roof, trees, me, weren't in the pics.
74 sounds right.
very nice pistola. i"m afraid the colts are growing on me.
Congrats on the pick up. Is it the light or is there a bit of rust inside the trigger guard?
It does look like it. But it's actually lint from the orange string the tag was connected to.
Can "coltalloy" rust?
My bad. I didn't take into consideration a LW frame. No "combat commander" on the slide should have been a sign. :der:
Darn fine lookin Colt!
Some nice history there. Nice job on the photos. :thumb:
Nice looking, working patina to it. Rather than detracting from its appearance, it adds to it immensely.
Nice looking old guy. I think it may have had a shoe on the trigger at one point in its life. I have a pre 80 Series Combat Commander made near the end of their run. Colt says it was made in 1982.
there is something about those old commanders, I've been looking for one for a long time..
Nice piece. Love those old LW Commanders. I snagged a '76 model last week.
incredible cool classic looking piece
